Classic Margarita Mocktail with Lemon and Lime
By Holly Darnell, RD

With Valentine’s Day on the horizon, why not make up a fun cocktail or mocktail that also loves up your skin? That’s this classic margarita that leverages Multi Collagen Advanced Hydrate, which help you achieve rapid hydration for both your skin and body.
In general, a margarita is loaded with sugar but not this version that uses monkfruit along with both lemons, limes and sparking water. The result is divine.
This essentially is a collagen-infused margarita that also improves hydration to your skin and body. It’s also loaded with vitamin C, with over 100 percent Daily Value.
Collagen is a protein that provides structure and elasticity to the skin, helping to fight the loss of skin’s volume and the appearance of fine lines and crow's feet. While collagen itself does not directly hydrate the skin, it does help to retain moisture and promote overall skin health. Our bodies' own production of collagen decreases due to natural aging and other factors.
The new Multi Collagen Advanced Hydrate Powder (lemon lime flavor for this recipe) supplement helps you achieve rapid hydration for your skin and body. It features a hydration superfood blend that includes Spanish red cave salt and red marine algae. Along with other Multi Collagen Protein supplements, human clinical trials show that it can improve appearance of crow’s feet after four weeks. The most advanced collagen formula yet, Multi Collagen Advanced is packed with 10 types of collagen from 10 food-based sources.
So you know where the collagen comes from, what about the sweetness. I use monk fruit here, including for delicious simple syrup. Why monk fruit? it contains compounds that, when extracted, are an estimated 200–300 times sweeter than regular cane sugar but with no calories and no effect on blood sugar.
Meanwhile, you’ll see plenty of lemon and lime juice, giving it great flavor along with plenty of vitamin C.
If you want to use dehydrated limes, make those first. Rreheat the oven to 200. Thinly slice one lime into one-fourth inch slices. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place the limes on the baking sheet. Cook for 4–5 hours, turning the limes and rotating the baking sheet every two hours.
In a medium saucepan, make the simple syrup. Add in one cup monk fruit sweetener and one cup water. Heat on medium high until it reaches a boil and sugar has dissolved. Set aside and allow to cool. The simple syrup can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one month.
In a bowl, add juiced lemon, juiced lime and one scoop Multi Collagen Advanced Hydrate. Use an immersion blender or whisk to combine until no more clumps remain.
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add in the collagen mixture and simple syrup. (If you're adding alcohol to turn this margarita mocktail into a classic margarita, this is when you add the tequila. Go with 1.5 ounces per serving.) Shake vigorously for 30 seconds.
Use a wedge of fresh lime and run it around the rim of a cocktail glass to moisten it. Dip the edge of the cocktail glass into the plate of sea salt. Rotate the glass to cover evenly. Add ice to the glass.
Strain the cocktail into the glass. Serve with dehydrated limes (optional).
